Read The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten – Chapter 1.4 | MangaBuddy. The next chapter, Chapter 1.5 is also available here. Come and enjoy!

This has been a good manga adaptation so far but to everyone that enjoys it, I recommend the light novels. Volume 4 (the best one) comes out on September 20.

Iirc its after the next chapter

Okay I'll say it. I love slice of life romcoms and all, but the "every boy in a school fallen for 1 beautiful girl and becoming apes whenever she does something" cliche is too overused and unrealistic. Nobody in real life do that. Yeah of course it's a manga and I shouldn't expect it to be as realistic as possible, but this scenery is used in literally every single manga where the author wants to portray how beautiful his/her female character is. It's uncreative and… cringe tbh

I don't know shit about this manga. My impression comes from the first chapter but… it has the most cookie cutter premise ever written, on top of featuring every trope that authors use to artificially make their love interest more attractive to the reader. Every guy in the school is crazy about her, and the male protagonist would rather avoid the trouble of being hated for interacting with the girl ? Seriously ?

I mean maybe it's good, maybe it is well written and has a nice progression. But the introduction, the "manic pixie dream girl gets interested into the one random dude who treated her well once, and who's actually not interested in her at first because he's "not like the other boys" and doesn't want to get into trouble with the other guys for interacting with her." trope is just so… ugh.

The guy gets sick and almost faint, the girl takes care of him and makes him rice porridge which is absolutely delicious (also the guy doesn't know how to cook). Besides, this happens in the very first chapter lmao

He starts to understand after interacting with her that the "perfect girl" actually has a normal side to her with emotions and likes and dislikes, and that she is not some kind of alien. Wow, you really needed to talk to her to figure this one out ? He even straight up calls her Angel in front of her, and honestly this weirds me out just as much as the Prince denomination that is used in so many works to refer to the popular guy.

Every time she appears the only thing they have to say is that she's a beauty/cute(obviously the only compliment you can give is about her physical appearance ? This is such a shallow way of praising or loving someone, I expected more since apparently every guy love her like crazy). They keep saying that she's an angel on a peak that they can't reach, that they "live in different worlds". Seriously ? That's just such a weird way of talking about a human, she's a freaking highschooler ffs.

I guess in fiction aimed at younger people this is a common trope because their viewpoint of the "world" is often restricted to their school environment, meaning that someone more popular at school is on a whole other level… but I really don't think that the author are purposefully doing it for that reason.
