The month of August is coming to an end with striking news. This news concerns all the fans of Mieruko-chan manga which has been desperately waiting for its anime adaptation. Well, this wait for the anime is finally coming to an end. Recently, the official social media handles of the manga shared new insights about the release of the anime series. Thus, Mieruko-chan Anime is not a far-off dream anymore. So, when is the anime series coming out? Will there be a delay? Here is all you need to know about the new venture.

Mieruko-chan is a popular Japanese Seinen horror-comedy manga. Tomoki Izumi is the writer and illustrator of the text. The first chapter of the manga came out in November 2018. So far, the ongoing manga has serialized five volumes. In March 2021, Studio Passione announced the anime adaptation of the text. Five months have gone by, and the anime has new updates for the fans.

According to the official synopsis of the manga, the story of Mieruko-chan revolves around high schooler Miko. A perfectly normal life turns upside down when Miko suddenly starts seeing espers and spirits around her. She realizes that no one can get notice of the beings that she sees with the naked eye. For a long time, she avoids the spirits with the help of petty spiritual objects. But when the spirit of a dead exchange teacher starts to haunt the school premises, she decides not to sit back anymore.

The newforming horror-comedy TV anime is all set to mark the coming year in its name. So, the manga confirmed that the Mieruko-chan anime series would premiere on October 3, 2021. Lastly, the anime will release on AT-X, Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, BS-NTV, and other prime Japanese television networks.

Not saying Mieruko-Chan is scary. Very few horror shows or movies are actually scary. But using traditional horror elements and good characterisation do manage to create scenes with some brilliant tension and the situation draws out empathy for protagonist Miko as she stands facing a monstrosity and trying not to react to its presence.

A recent example comes from episode 8 where we get one of the most tension filled scenes Mieruko-Chan has delivered yet. Miko and her brother are riding a train and a ghost is striking each of the passengers in turn with an axe. None of them can see him or feel the axe and they don’t react in anyway but for Miko, sitting there and waiting for the ghost to strike her is a nerve wracking experience and one that is conveyed beautifully to the audience.
