On an island off the coast of Okinawa, two young men meet on a beach. Shun Hashimoto is gay and aspires to be a novelist. He is interested in Mio Chibana, a somber high school student, and starts to flirt with him. Day by day, the two of them grow closer, but then, suddenly, Mio decides to leave the island. Three years later, Mio returns and approaches Shun with the words, “I’ve thought about it for the past three years. I like you, Shun, even if you’re a guy.” However, when faced with the prospect of finally becoming lovers with Mio, Shun cannot take the first step towards commitment…?

Mio’s forwardness also includes wanting to kiss Shun and wondering why they cannot sleep together when he suggests it. Giving a cat a ride in the basket attached to his bike, Mio tells it to be careful and not to jump off. He wore a hat on the mainland since strangers make him feel uncomfortable. His nerves were visible in his first plane journey and in a crowd but even with people looking he opted to keep close to Shun.

It has been three years since he started living on an island. Shun was meant to marry a girl from a prominent family and said sorry for ruining the wedding since he was not attracted to girls. Staying with his grandmother, he does small errands for her like delivering the bread she makes to helping repair a roof. Asking her about Mio, Shun thinks he has a pretty face. Greeting him one morning he later tries speaking again at night and offers him dinner. Shun feels Mio looks so lonely but with Mio not wanting to be regarded like that he changes to say he was looking at him since he was interested and wanted to get to know him. A writer, his first novel won a prestigious award. When Mio returned Shun raised his promise that he would call and asked why he also waited for so long. Shun decides to completely return Mio’s feelings and then head back to reconcile with his family. At 27 Shun has had a past childhood crush on Wada that was unrequited. He was later seduced by a man yet nothing happened. Shun followed the advice to find someone he cares about and considers Mio that person.

Living with Shun and his grandmother, she acts as a sister in the household. Eri raises whether Shun likes Mio the latter who she addresses as pretty boy. When Mio moved away and called, out of concern for Shun she stated that Mio should not be playing with Shun’s feelings.
