Just a big sexy shirtless muscle man in the anime bara style we all love! Great for anime and manga fans who are gay men and love bears, otters, cubs, daddies and more. Show it off with pride!
Although men’s general-interest magazines have published occasional manga stories since the 1970s, the first all-manga magazines to become commercially successful date only from the early 2000s. The two major commercial publishers at the moment are Furukawa Shobu (a publisher of men’s magazines) and Oakla Shuppan (a yaoi publisher that also has some bara manga magazines). Kinniku Otoko (literally “Muscle Man”) is one of the manga magazines that focuses on this genre.
Bara, also known as manga, tends to be overlapped with Yaoi since both are similar in idea with two guys in mind. The most notable difference is the body shapes and features of each character. These include: gacchiri (muscular), gachimuchi (muscle-curvy), gachidebu (muscle-fat) and debu (fat). In my experience, the muscular aspect of each guy tends to over–exaggerate in an artist’s depiction and it may include a young man with body and has muscles of his own. Don’t ask me why it exists. Because it is a thing.
If you are looking for a good bara manga to get into, below are some of the best out there.
This is an unusual bara manga. Ooshima is somehow shrunk to a miniscule size, and the only way to cure his new predicament is to have sex with the one person he truly loves, who he soon discovers to be his best friend Suga. It is a tale of overcoming an obstacle, all in a saucy and sensual way.
