Ladies versus Butlers! is a series of light novels written by Tsukasa Kozuki and illustrated by Munyu, which were published from 2006 to 2012. An anime adaptation by aired on in the winter of 2010, and there’s also a manga adaptation, also written by Kozuki and illustrated by Nekomaru Nekoyashiki.

Hino Akiharu lost his parents when he was an elementary student and was taken in by his uncle’s family. One day, he sees on the news about the newly-established Hakureiryou Gakuin, a which was re-built from an elite girls’ . He decides to take the exam for that and succeeds in entering the House Management Department (the place to train maids & butlers). He wants to become a butler, although his appearance scares the ladies. Akiharu has a sinister look in his eyes, a scar on his right eyebrow, and bristled up hair. Add 3 piercings on his ears and he indeed has a typical bad look on him.He meets his “nemesis” at that , Saikyou Tomomi, a girl with a two faced character who traumatized him many times since they weres. Another girl named Cernia Iori FlameHeart chases after him because of his looks and calls him suspicious. Still, Akiharu starts finding his feet at the and his relationships with the girls also get better…

Hilarious in many respects. Hit or miss in others. If you’re an anime fan with fan service and par for the course storyline, then Ladies Versus Butlers is for you.The English dub isnt the best, nor the worst, it’s just good. Unlike Funimation releases, and this is my own opinion, the voice actors seem flat and uninterested in what’s going on. If you plan to see this, go with the Japanese audio for language options.The animation is very fluid, no corners cut in terms of animation quality. Bright colors fill your screen and are a step above usual fair you get from other studios.In terms of if this is a buy or not, I’d say yes, but go with the japanese audio option if you have the choice.
