MANGA REVIEW | “The Elusive Samurai” – Vols. 2 & 3
The Elusive Samurai vol 11 GN Manga
The second volume of a new manga series (The Elusive Samurai) is a good follow-up to this new Historical Fiction series. Having survived the overthrow of his Clan and in hiding from General Ashikaga and his minions, Tokiyuki and his Elusive Warriors must gather more allies if they are to eventually take down the treacherous Warlord.Pros*Bow contest between Lord Ogasawara and Tokiyuki (in disguise): an inventive way of highlighting the stakes that Tokiyuki must overcome while retaining the charm of a Shonen character*Cast of characters – A new character, a Shinobi, is introduced. His crass character and infamy were another humorous addition to an often-times mature series.*Elements of caricature in art style – Yorishige, Priest-Lord of Suwa, was given the spotlight to showcase his humous facial expressions when he temporarily loses his ability to see the future.SummaryOverall, a good volume to this promising new Shonen series. Onwards to volume 3!
Manga Review: The Elusive Samurai Chapter 2
The Elusive Samurai is the latest manga by famed author Yusei Matsui. Considering his popular zany and action-packed work on , readers can expect more of the same high-octane action here. While maintaining the frenetic pacing and laughs that Assassination Classroom gave fans a while back, The Elusive Samurai has a few problems that might hinder it, but it still shows potential to become a shonen hit.
