GANTZ – The Horror Sci-fi Manga Exploring the Human Condition

GANTZ features tons of violence, action, and sex, and a story that goes way beyond just a graphic manga.

GANTZ starts off with Kei Kurono, the protagonist, in a subway station. He notices Kato, his childhood friend whom he hasn’t seen for years next to him. Shortly after, a drunk man falls onto the train tracks, and Kato jumps down to try and save him. Although his mind tells him not to, Kei ends up jumping down too, to help Kato get the drunkard off the tracks. In a typical manga, they would succeed in saving the man, but GANTZ is no typical manga. The two end up getting run over, beheaded, and their body parts flying all over the station. The main character is dead.
