Apart from the fact that it not only volumises lashes, but lengthens them in the extreme, the clincher for me is the colour. I am enraged down to the marrow of my bones by mascara that is only sort of black. That diluted, greyish black is simply not to be borne. Miss Manga is the sort of luscious black that almost absorbs the light; a couldn’t be blacker kind of black. Black as a pair of Fr. Ted’s socks. Yeah. It’s rather black.
Just like with any other mascara, I wiped the excess product on a tissue before I applied it on my lashes. It’s sadly a waste, but I’m not a big fan of the clumpy look that some mascaras give. Mega Volume Miss Manga is definitely one of those mascaras, and on purpose. Just take a look at this demo on L’Oreal’s website right . That little clip demonstrates how Mega Volume Miss Manga gives lots of length and volume, creating an exaggerated and over-the-top look. I think that with good technique- such as getting rid of the excess product, applying the mascara slowly and precisely in a zig-zag motion- the clumpy and sort of messy result can be avoided.

The highlight of Kano Kashiwagi’s manga is the amount of times Hayase makes a mess out of himself. Watching as a suave debonair constantly spills files, rips his clothes, and jumps headfirst into a pile of trash surprisingly doesn’t get tiresome. Having Miss Kishi work hard to make Hayase look the least likely to be a complete whoopsie-doodle adds more to the humor of it all, as a cool and composed maid forced to clean up after humorous screwups adds to the punchline.
