Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ revolves around the clash of two cultures, village culture and city culture, caused between a rich farmer and the wife of a city based industrialist, after their children marry each other.

A Bollywood mainstream movie asking this kind of tricky question deserves serious props, even if it isn’t original. Shubh Mangal Savdhan is a remake of 2013 Tamil film Kalyana Samayal Sadham. But still and all, hurrah.

Talking about what we can expect from the film, producer Aanand L Rai revealed, “Shubh Mangal Savdhan is a funny and layered story. These are the kind of stories I’ve identified with, right from the time I made Tanu Weds Manu. It is a simple narrative with an interesting bend and the reason I cast Ayushmann and Bhumi is that they fit the bill perfectly for this part.” Talking about his fondness for the lead stars of Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, the producer further said, “They are the sort of actors I could be friends with even if they didn’t belong to the fraternity. They are simple and humble.”
