If you’re familiar with The Main Character! Series than you will know this material covers most of the first chapter of the first book, and it covers it well. This comic (or “manga” as it claims) is solidly done and hits all the right notes of comedy and parody.The story ends abruptly, however – I feel that as a first comic, a better natural ending point would have been a little further in, when Main’s class is threatened by Antagonist.Also, there’s 30 pages of comics, 17 pages of advertisements for other books, and the rest is interviews of the book’s creators. Leaves for a frankly unfinished experienced, and I worry what will happen in the second book if it can’t be padded.Overall a solid attempt and I’m sure fans will enjoy it, but makes me worry how future books will be handled.
