La Manga is a 20-kilometre long strip of land in the Spanish region of Murcia. It can be found between the saltwater lagoon Mar Menor and the Mediterranean; La Manga offers many long sandy beaches. Here you live in a climate of about 320 days of sunshine a year, which makes it an excellent place to settle in if you are tired of wet and chilly weather. La Manga, whose name means just sleeve in Spanish, belongs to the two municipalities of Cartagena in the south and San Javier in the north. A drive of 75 kilometres in a southerly direction lies the larger city of Murcia, a cultural city with beautiful buildings.
In La Manga, you can combine fun activities with quiet days on the beach. You can take boat trips to the various nearby islands. Why not visit the area’s main attraction, Puente de la Risa? It is a bridge with an unusually high slope, which makes it a unique experience to travel on. When you buy housing in this area, you are close to a host of fun activities for the whole family, plus the opportunity to try the local Spanish cuisine. On the many outdoor restaurants, fresh seafood is served, but there are restaurants for all tastes. Why not enjoy a sundowner at a comfy beach bar overlooking the Mediterranean Sea?
