Manga chishiya blackjack

His Ni is apparent many times in the manga. He chose to stay in one spot during the tag game to observe his enemies first (Ni prefering prediction over Se action). His dominant Ni is also very apparent when he set Arisu up. When he saw Aguni’s confusion when he opened the black envelope he concluded that the content of the envelope is most likely empty. After setting Arisu up, he picked information again when Aguni looked into one spot because he felt uneasy that Arisu tried to break the fake safe, hence he was looking at the location of the real safe. He used his Ni briefly in blackjack too, guessing that one of the players is a magician because of how he looks.
The game seems to be a normal round of blackjack, and so I wonder how the noose and the gun will get involved. Chishiya is quite good at it, as, despite never playing it, he starts using a strategy that, despite not being illegal, will mostly see you kicked out of a casino: card counting, a mnemonic way to get the odds in your favor.
As result of his past (in the manga, due to never receiving any love from his parents; in the TV series, due to becoming disillusioned by his profession), Chishiya grew up to be an apathetic person. He is always unbothered, even in the worst situations. In fact, more than once during the games, Chishiya gambled and let fate decide if he would survive while keeping the usual carefree expression and sometimes even an amused face. Chishiya is truly fearless, but that is because he doesn’t care about anything, including his own life.
Interestingly, in the Alice in Borderland manga, Chishiya was not part of the Jack of Hearts game. When it comes to the live-action adaptation, not only was Chishiya one of the characters playing Solitary Confinement, but he was also the most important character in those two episodes. The way Chishiya seemed to not care at all about anyone but himself made him the perfect player for the Jack of Hearts, not to mention all the tension surrounding whether the show was going to kill one of its most beloved names. The same applies to the Beauty Contest game, which tested Chishiya’s morals and revealed the character’s surprising background as a doctor.
It was easy to predict that Arisu and Usagi were going to make it to the final game. However, without considering the manga, Chishiya’s fate was always up in the air. This helps explain why the supporting Alice in Borderland characters were so successful – their journeys were more unpredictable than those of Arisu and Usagi. Lastly, the Beauty Contest game retroactively changed Chishiya’s character by revealing more about his past, which elevated his role on the show in retrospect. This combination of factors made Chishiya a scene-stealer in Alice in Borderland season 2, and hopefully, he will return in season 3.
