‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ manga hits 100 million copies as it ends its run
Gege Akutami’s dark fantasy manga “Jujutsu Kaisen” has surpassed 100 million copies in print, including digital editions, publisher Shueisha Inc. announced.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” has joined the ranks of Shueisha’s manga titles with more than 100 million copies in circulation, including “Dragon Ball,” “Slam Dunk,” “One Piece,” “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” “Kingdom” and “My Hero Academia.”
Despite the popularity of the world-renowned Jujutsu Kaisen manga series, the artist Gege Akutami remains mostly a mystery. This pen name for the prolific and popular creator is all that many know of their favorite, other than their birthdate – February 26, 1992 – their birthplace – Iwate Prefecture in Japan – and all the awards and attention they have won.
Since 2018, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga series has remained one of the top-rated and most-read series ever.
